Safe Disinfection of Silicone Pads and Lamination Rods for Lash Extensions and Lamination.

❌ Do not use: strong chemical disinfectants – these are designed for metal tools, not silicone. Silicone absorbs them, which can cause irritation or even chemical burns on the client's skin.

Silicone is porous and absorbs chemicals, which may later lead to redness, swelling, or burns on the eyelids.

Safe Disinfection Method:

  1. Wash with antibacterial soap
  2. Rinse with warm water – make sure all soap residue is fully removed.
  3. Dry thoroughly – remember that leftover moisture can dilute the disinfectant and make it ineffective.
  4. Disinfect with a safe solution:
    • 70% alcohol – 10 minutes, or
    • 0.75–3% hydrogen peroxide solution: 3%: 10–15 minutes, 1.5%: 18–20 minutes, 0.75%: 50–60 minutes
    • Rinse again, dry, and store
      – after disinfection, rinse with clean water, dry completely, and place in a clean, closed container.
